Fees and Investments

Fees

There are no charges due the Ashland County Community Foundation in the creation of a fund. To cover the costs associated with administering charitable funds, the Ashland County Community Foundation charges each fund an annual fee. This fee, however, is always deducted from the fund; additional dollars are never required from the donor. The current administrative fees are as follows:

Fund Type Annual Fee
Agency Fund 0.5%
Donor Advised Fund 1.0%
Donor Designated Fund 1.0%
Donor Designated Fund for Community Grants 1.0%
Scholarship Fund 1.5%

Investments

Endowed funds at the Ashland County Community Foundation are invested, with a view to the long term, to produce earnings that are distributed in the form of scholarships or grants to nonprofit agencies.

The investment philosophy of the Ashland County Community Foundation is focused on growth and distribution, generating an adequate amount of investment return to provide re-investment in Ashland County, while preserving the principal of endowed funds into perpetuity.

The Ashland County Community Foundation's primary pool of assets is held in low-fee Vanguard index funds, with the ACCF Finance Committee monitoring the performance.

Note: A copy of ACCF’s annual audit is available by contacting the Foundation office at 419-281-4733 or contacting ACCF  via email.
